Scuba Diving in Komodo National Park

danishtraveller

I have dived for 27 years, including 5 years in Asia, but Komodo NP is definitely one of the best locations ever. Make sure that the operator takes you into the NP. The first operator that I went with, Bajo Dive Center, took me to a spot near LBJ and the dive was so-so. Then they cancelled two divesat the last minute. The next operator I tried, Reefseekers, I can highly recommend. They do all dives inside the park. On one dive called the landing strip we saw 30+ different Mantas in one hour. It's a gigantic cleaning station, several kilometers long and hundreds of meters wide.

Loh Liang Rather Safe To Dragons

RoyJava

The area of Loh Liang is like an open grassland, with riverbeds, old ladang/rice-field, savannahs and a small mangrove swamp. Loh Liang Kampung is the location of the well-kept PHKA, it is the former PHPA camp (Perlindungan Hutan Pengawatan Alam - Indonesian Forestry Service) 2 km (a 30-min. walk) North of Kampung Komodo. Tourists may only stay in the PHKA camp's visitor accommodations (about 45.000 Rp/4 Euro per person per night, last rate at 2003).If not, just stay on the boat you sailed with ... don't even think about the Komodo Island is a place to camp staying in jungle !!!
